Fuero Games is a game studio established in 2012 and specializes in cross-platform (web & mobile) games, and PC games developed on both Unity and Unreal Engine 4. We developed games based on our IP, but mostly we are known for our “work-for-hire” successes. We’ve cooperated with many AA-AAA worldwide studios, helping to deliver the best game possible, such as Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior 3, Space Punks), CD Projekt RED (The Witcher: Battle Arena), Singularity (TBA), Fractured Labs (TBA) or Meta (former Facebook).

Lead Programmer (Unreal Engine)

salary range: 15-30k PLN net/month (or net-net on B2B)
contract: B2B, CoE, Commission Work, Contract of Services (depends on your work permission)
workplace: 100% remote or Warsaw (Poland)

engine: Unreal Engine 4, later Unreal Engine 5
genre: AA-AAA; multiplayer, third-person shooter, open world (depends on the project)

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • leading the team of programmers during the production of AA-AAA titles (TBA),
  • creating a project schedule, roadmaps, technical feature design, plans, milestones, tasks, daily communication with the client and the development team,
  • breaking down the business requirements into the production cycle,
  • implementing features and mechanics from the game design document to scheduled tasks and milestones,
  • working in AGILE methodology on creating and maintaining key game features, delivering milestones, maintaining backlog, tracking sprint progress,
  • troubleshooting issues and solving problems if necessary,
  • proactively seeking gaps and opportunities to improve functionality and technical standards, retrospective meetings, gathering feedback from the client, QA teams, and Product Managers
  • working closely with team members including the client's Project Manager, Product Manager, SW architects, backend developers, and other technology teams in the multi-language/culture environment,
  • reporting the current progress, risks, and resources management.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • at least 3 years of experience in similar position,
  • very good knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 / 5 architecture, including prototyping with in-build and third-party tools, optimization, hardware platform’s specific optimization,
  • JIRA/Confluence administrator/project manager experience (configure workflows, create reports, maintain the backlog and sprint scopes), or similar,
  • solid experience with version control systems (P4V, GIT),
  • previous experience working with different build systems (SWARM, Jenkins, TC, Python scripts),
  • previous experience with multiplayer games and client-server architecture (AWS Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, microservices implementation),
  • strong knowledge of design patterns (visitor, abstract factory, bridge, interpreter, state, etc.), UML schemas, Unreal Engine design blueprint patterns, UE architecture, different shading, and rendering pipelines,
  • fluent in technical English and Polish, written and spoken,
  • Polish residency or Polish work permission (does not apply to B2B contractors).
