Vile Monarch, a hard rock games studio from Warsaw, is looking for someone who can bring order to the Order of the Order Mages (yes, that’s plenty of Order in this sentence but the Monarch could use even more). Created in 2015 by two mad geniuses straight from the team of the legendary This War of Mine, the Monarch has proven over the years to be an exceptionally powerful game-making entity. Currently, he leads more than 70 royal followers, including many veterans, who’s so far released 6 different games, conquering PC, Android, iOS, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

• Growing Up - a coming-of-age life-sim with visual novel elements, standing out with its unique art and mature take on childhood/parenting
• Floodland - a post-catastrophic survival city builder that uses management mechanics to discuss social issues through the lens of a major catastrophe

Vile Monarch’s heart is made of a unique combination of practicality and creativity - we love making fresh things of different sizes, for different platforms, and in different genres. All of this is tied together by our desire to craft compelling fantasies served through expertly designed game systems. Currently, there’s one announced upcoming vile title - The Last Alchemist. It’s a wondrous Alchemy Management game about the blazing pursuit of science in a world of superstition

But the Monarch always has some top secret projects in the making, in various stages of advancement. Each is very different - big and small, jolly and grim, amazing and outstanding. And as we’re a multi-project studio, it’s high time we appoint an amazing, super experienced person to tie them all together - someone to take charge of the production department and help the producers of individual projects to deliver even better games - on time and in scope.

Example responsibilities:

• Defining and maintaining processes and tools shared across projects.
• High-level oversight on the production of all projects - sticking to schedules and budgets, managing risks. Supporting producers of these projects.
• Leading and mentoring other producers, overseeing their development.
• Spreading production knowledge in the whole organization
• Facilitating communication between projects

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of managerial experience in the industry, with delivered projects.
• Thorough knowledge of project management - methodologies (e.g. Scrum) and tools (e.g. Jira)
• Proficiency in Office tools, love for sheets, tables and charts
• Excellent communication skills
• Discipline and self-reliance, organized work style
• Very good English, both spoken and written
• Staying in touch online with our HQ in Warsaw on a daily basis
• Love for games, knowledge of various platforms and genres

Nice to have:

• Experience in non-management gamedev positions, such as design, programming or art
• Previous management work on projects bigger than 10 people
• Willingness to work fully in Warsaw or Wrocław
• Love for beer, rock music and speaking fluently in GIFs.
