We are looking for a Concept Artist to join an entirely new team based in Poland, focused on co-developing titles within the Snail Games USA portfolio.
In this role, you’ll collaborate on an exciting variety of projects, including both well-established IPs and new titles. You'll have a unique opportunity to be part of the studio’s growth and influence its culture from day one while working on creative, dynamic projects with passionate teams from other parts of the world.
Job Duties
- Think Abstractly: Take abstract requirements and goals to craft creative and innovative art on a short timeline.
- Self Driven: Take full ownership of concept pipeline from start to finish, managing your own work and seeking out feedback and collaboration to set a high standard.
- Iterative Development: Take and incorporate feedback from art leads and the design team, refining concepts to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality.
- Multi-Project Support: Support other projects as needed by adapting visual designs to fit different game themes and visual styles.
- Reference Creation: Produce detailed reference sheets and breakdowns, ensuring modelers and animators have clear guides for creature proportions, textures, and functionality.
Requirements
- Experience in Concept Art: 2+ years as a concept artist with a strong focus in one area.
- Visual Storytelling: Proficient in conveying personality and behavior through creature designs, enhancing the immersive quality of the game world.
- Collaborative Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with designers, modelers, and the art lead.
- Unreal Engine Familiarity: Basic understanding of Unreal Engine to design with technical considerations in mind, with a preference for experience in UE4 or earlier versions.
- English Proficiency: Good written and verbal English skills to enable clear communication.
Bonus Requirements
- Experience with Survival Games: Familiarity with the creature design needs in survival games like Ark or Atlas.
- Flexibility: Can wear multiple hats doing different types of illustration, storyboarding, hard surface, clothing, and creature concepts.
- 3d Skills: Able to Concept in 3d and shortcut the prototyping process
- Modkit Knowledge: Understanding of Ark or Atlas Modkits to ensure designs can be effectively translated into in-game assets.
