About Us:
ECUMENE GAMES is an independent development studio dedicated to creating innovative action games set in rich historical and cultural contexts. Our flagship project, ECUMENE AZTEC, is a third-person action game that blends combat, stealth, and survival elements. Set in the 16th-century Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, the game immerses players in a world of dynamic combat, exploration, and historical intrigue.
Who we're looking for:
• Someone eager to contribute to the quality of the game from early demo stages,
• Able to methodically test and clearly report issues,
• Communicates effectively and concisely in both written and spoken form,
• Speaks and writes English fluently (B2/C1) – all documentation and communication are in English,
• Available for 10–20 hours per week (or more, depending on your chosen collaboration format).
Key Responsibilities:
• Testing development builds in Unreal Engine 5,
• Reporting bugs, inconsistencies, and suggestions via ClickUp / Google Sheets / Trello,
• Helping to design and execute test cases,
• Re-testing fixes and verifying build stability,
• Communicating regularly with the producer, designers, and developers.
Requirements:
• Attention to detail, patience, and thoroughness,
• Ability to clearly communicate technical or gameplay-related issues,
• English proficiency at B2/C1 level or higher,
• Interest in games, especially immersive or narrative-driven titles.
Nice to Have:
• A gaming PC with a graphics card of at least 8GB VRAM (we will provide remote access to a testing server in later stages),
• Experience with game testing (student projects or commercial),
• Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine 5,
• Experience using version control tools (e.g. Git, Perforce),
• Student status and eagerness to grow in QA, production, or design,
• Passion for narrative, artistic or immersive indie/AA games,
• Interest in growing toward QA Lead / Producer / Game Designer roles.
