For our brave tribe MATABOO we are looking for a talented 2D Animation Conjuress/Conjurer (2D Animator) to join our new project and support our team in the unique adventures we are taking part in and those ahead of us.

MATABOO supports developers and publishers at every stage of their projects. We specialize in co-development, porting, remasters, remakes, optimization, bug fixing, and other tasks for seasoned programmers. Our expertise spans across Unreal Engine, Unity, and proprietary engines. Whatever game platform or engine you choose, we are here to assist you.

MATABOO works closely with renowned studios, including Warner Bros. Games, Rocksteady, Frogwares, GSC Game World, Kepler Interactive, Bloober Team, Creepy Jar, Tate Multimedia and The Farm 51. We provide extensive support for titles like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Gotham Knights, The Sinking City Remastered, Tchia, Chernobylite, Green Hell, The Medium, Kao the Kangaroo and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Sherlock Holmes game series.

We are a Polish company based in Warsaw, hidden in the silence and greenery of Fort Mokotów.

What will you work on?

• We are preparing a remastered version of a well known game, as a part of this title we plan to exchange some of the 3D cutscenes that are outdated with “animated illustrations” based on the artistic style characteristic to the original IP.
• The final approach and used technique is to be determined having the deadlines and number of cutscenes to be prepared in mind.

What will be your tasks? (your responsibilities)

• Working closely with the art team and art director to ensure the direction matches the vision.
• Preparing animated footage to be used as cutscenes in a game remaster - relatively simple animations based on 2D planes and partial animations of chosen elements.
• Working on animations of 2D characters, simple animations of background (clouds, smoke, foliage).
• Having in mind that many cutscenes have variants and certain elements should be modular to reuse previously prepared material as often as possible.
• Creating animatics or initial sketches to propose an idea for recreating an original pre-remastered scene in a simplified 2D version.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• Familiar with character creation and animation pipelines.
• An animator who understands how to create an impactful animation without putting effort into every detail shown in the frame.
• Expert-level proficiency in preferred 2D animation software (e.g. Spine2D, After Effects).
• Capable of frame-by-frame animation of specific elements if it would have a positive effect on the final footage.
• Good command of the English language.

Additional advantages will be:
