I'm the former founder of Turbine, which made MMO games including Lord of the Rings Online, and was bought by Warner Bros. for $160 million.

Now my friends and I are making an AR mobile walking game in Warsaw with a big Hollywood franchise. (It's a secret, but it's one of the big ones, like Harry Potter or Star Wars.) Our advisors include former Lucasfilm COO, Blizzard President, and PlayStation CEO.

We are hiring a hard surface modeler (and other art roles) for our mobile game. We do it Mission: Impossible style with insane happy energy!

Top level salary. You can work from home, remotely, and if you live near Warsaw our team is based there so that we can occasionally meet. We have a budget for joint trips to tourist attractions, escape rooms and other games, dinners, all paid by the company. Unlike other companies that are mismanaged and constantly in "crunch time", we have a smooth, no drama operation where everyone is excited to make a new category of video game.

You could be part-time or full-time. Full-timers get 26 paid vacation days a year. We invest in people to be creative and invent the future. We plan to grow 3x in the next year, giving you much more responsibility than other employers to prove yourself and move up!

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed and optimized hard surface 3D models for characters, vehicles, weapons, and environments tailored for Unity mobile games.
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and programmers to ensure models meet style, technical, and performance requirements.
• Produce low- to mid-poly assets with efficient UV layouts and textures suitable for mobile platforms.
• Implement models in Unity, including proper setup of materials, LODs, and collision meshes.
• Optimize models and textures to maintain smooth performance on a diverse range of mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges related to modeling and integration within Unity pipelines.

Requirements:

• A leader who "gets" the game's vision and goals, and can lead design, not just follow orders.
• Social, makes friends easily. It's a remote job but most of us are around Warsaw and we have occasional fun team meet-ups.
• Disciplined artist who finishes what you start
• Excited by the challenge of inventing a new category of video game
• Portfolio demonstrating strong hard surface modeling skills optimized for Unity mobile games.
• At least 3 years of experience creating game-ready assets for mobile platforms.
• Proficient in 3D software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, or similar.
• Strong understanding of topology, edge flow, UV mapping, and texture baking.
• Experience with polygon budget management and performance optimization for mobile.
• Familiarity with Unity’s asset pipeline and material/shader setup.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience creating LOD models and using Unity’s LOD Group system.
• Knowledge of PBR workflows and mobile-friendly texturing techniques.
• Contributions to published mobile game titles.
• Can make other types of art such as technical art, VFX
