IBRU is a science-fantasy detective RPG set in a richly imagined world where ancient mythology meets post-cyberpunk decay. Developed by a multicultural indie team in collaboration with Nobel Prize laureate Olga Tokarczuk, IBRU tells emotionally complex stories in a world shaped by the ruins of lost civilizations and techno-political intrigue.
We’re looking for a Narrative Designer to join our team. This is a role for someone who not only writes well but also feels comfortable translating narrative into gameplay and implementing story elements directly in the engine. You’ll be working hands-on with quests, dialogues, and lore, making sure that writing and design are seamlessly connected.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the narrative team to design and implement quests and cases
- Writing and implementing dialogues, item descriptions, lore notes and other narrative assets
- Taking an active role in shaping the game’s overall story and narrative systems
- Implementing narrative content directly in Unreal Engine, ensuring smooth integration with gameplay
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Narrative Designer, with at least one shipped commercial title (preferably in Unreal Engine)
- Good knowledge of Unreal Engine and ability to work with its narrative-related tools and systems
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
- Passion for video games, deep interest in storytelling, and awareness of current game development trends
- Active interest in literature and culture
Nice to have:
- Solid understanding of game design fundamentals
- Experience in connecting gameplay mechanics with narrative systems
