Let’s be real. We see a lot of great games. Talented teams, beautiful art, solid code. But even the best projects can hit a wall. Sometimes a game has 50 features but no clear hook, or mechanics that felt good on paper but feel clunky in a build (and sometimes clunky on paper). We're looking for someone who can spot those friction points before they become deal-breakers.
We are Untold Tales. We’ve been at this for nearly six years, with over 70 games in our war chest. Our portfolio is shifting so do we. While we still love a unique story, we’re increasingly focused on games with legs. We want more and deep systems, high replayability, and projects that can grow through updates and DLCs. We’re looking for games that stay on players' hard drives for years, not just days.
We don’t want a "Consultant" who’s going to charge us for a 40-page PDF of "high-level observations." We want a practitioner. Someone who has shipped Indie or AA titles and knows exactly why a gameplay loop is sagging. We need someone who can work with developers to cut the bloat and sharpen the fun.
The Deal: This isn't a 9-5 grind. This is a B2B partnership. You probably have other projects or a full-time gig - that’s fine. We just need you to be our additional eye for game design when a new build hits the table. We’ll agree on an hourly rate or a "per-game" fee. No corporate BS, just honest, professional feedback.
