We are looking for a Game Designer to join an entirely new team based in Poland, focused on co-developing titles within the Snail Games USA portfolio.
In this role, you’ll collaborate on an exciting variety of projects, including both well-established IPs and new titles. You'll have a unique opportunity to be part of the studio’s growth and influence its culture from day one while working on creative, dynamic projects with passionate teams from other parts of the world.
Job Duties
- Design Implementation: Implement internally and externally-defined features, ensuring functionality with all gameplay systems.
- Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Work closely with the local art team to integrate assets seamlessly, providing feedback to ensure models, animations, sounds and effects meet gameplay needs.
- Quality and Standards Alignment: Maintain consistency with the project’s design standards, regularly checking that feature implementations meet quality and gameplay expectations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document implementation details and balance of features and systems. Provide regular updates to external design leads to ensure alignment.
- Feedback and Iteration: Analyze feedback from core teams and playtests to iterate on gameplay mechanics, balancing time, difficulty, resource yield and other key game-feel elements.
Requirements
- Experience in Game Design: 3+ years in game design, ideally in survival or open-world games.
Technical Implementation Skills: Proficient in implementing gameplay features and interactions within established systems.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication skills for working with local and external teams, especially for cross-discipline coordination.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure high-quality feature functionality, aligned with gameplay standards and core team expectations.
- Unreal Engine Experience: Proficiency with Unreal Engine, with a preference for experience in UE4 or earlier versions.
- English Proficiency: Fluent in English for effective communication with internal and external design leads as well as other international partners.
Bonus Requirements
- Experience with Survival Games: Familiarity with survival games like Ark or Atlas.
- Modkit Knowledge: Experience or familiarity with Ark or Atlas Modkits to implement new gameplay features and game interactions.
