We are looking for a Technical Artist (Rigging Focus) to join an entirely new team based in Poland, focused on co-developing titles within the Snail Games USA portfolio.
In this role, you’ll collaborate on an exciting variety of projects, including both well-established IPs and new titles. You'll have a unique opportunity to be part of the studio’s growth and influence its culture from day one while working on creative, dynamic projects with passionate teams from other parts of the world.
Responsibilities
- Design, create, and maintain efficient rigs for a variety of assets (characters, creatures, mechanical props).
- Collaborate with animators to ensure rigs meet performance and gameplay requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to skinning, deformation, and tool integration.
- Work with the art team to improve workflows, pipelines, and best practices.
- Provide accurate time estimates, prioritize tasks, and meet project milestones.
- Stay current with emerging rigging technologies and industry trends.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a rigger or technical artist in game development.
- Strong knowledge of rigging tools and techniques in Maya or similar software.
- Solid understanding of anatomy and mechanical movement principles.
- Familiarity with real-time performance constraints and optimization.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Perforce) and collaborative workflows.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to adapt quickly and excel in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
Bonus Skills
- Python or MEL scripting to automate rigging tasks.
- Experience with Unreal Engine’s animation pipeline.
- Knowledge of facial rigging and blend shape systems.
- Background in tool creation for animators.
