It's the world's first Outdoor Roleplaying Game, the next big leap after Pokemon Go!
I'm the former founder of Turbine, which made MMO games including Lord of the Rings Online, and was bought by Warner Bros. for $160 million.
Now my friends and I are making an AR mobile walking game in Warsaw with a big Hollywood franchise. (It’s a secret, but it’s one of the big ones, like Harry Potter or Star Wars.) Our advisors include David Anderman, who was COO for George Lucas, Jack Tretton, who was President of PlayStation, and Mike Ybarra, who was President of Blizzard.
Our UX is pretty good, but we'd like to improve it. We do it Mission: Impossible style with insane happy energy! See the game at https://youtube.com/@monsarratgames/playlists/.
We're hiring someone to review our UI, make suggestions, and draw the art. So this won't be a pure UX project. We need a User Interface Artist, working in 2D for Unity. You won't need to can handle the implementation.
You can work from home, remotely, and if you live near Warsaw our team is based there so that we can occasionally meet. We have a budget for joint trips to tourist attractions, escape rooms and other games, dinners, all paid by the company. Unlike other companies that are mismanaged and constantly in "crunch time", we have a smooth, no drama operation where everyone is excited to push the boundaries of what has been seen in AR so far.
You could be a half-time or full-time role, a short-term contract or permanent. It's up to you. Full-timers get 26 paid vacation days a year, even on a B2B contract. We invest in people to be creative and invent the future.
Qualifications:
-- Living in Poland, fluent in English and Polish
-- Senior-level UI/UX designer with strong visual design skills — this is not a pure UX role
-- Proven experience in icon illustration and UI asset creation
-- Optionally, shipped a AAA mobile app or a game with a serious server side
-- Optionally, experience in the video games industry
-- Strong creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment
-- Self-motivated and reliable — able to see tasks through to completion without supervision
-- Collaborative and communicative — able to work seamlessly with designers, artists, and programmers
-- Thrives in a dynamic, iterative environment and enjoys overcoming technical and creative challenges
-- Bonus: Experience creating UI animations (timeline, animator, scripting, flipbooks, shaders)
Top level salary. We prefer B2B contracts but other types are fine. Many people on our team are immigrants from Ukraine into Poland.
